Without question one of the most iconic story-lines in video game history is Metal Gear. Spanning decades and many consoles both home and portable, and bringing forth one spectacular story after another are qualities that make Metal Gear the spectacular video game soap opera that it has become. Recently Hideo Kojima and Konami have decided to prep the gaming world for the upcoming release of Phantom Pain by releasing what could easily be considered the shortest Metal Gear Solid game ever, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

Sean Halliday of Pixel Gate writes: ''Normally, anything that Hideo Kojima works on is accompanied by huge amounts of hype and attention. And for the most part, the attention is positive. Kojima has, after allm earned his place as one of the industrys icons. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, the most recent release in the series, has been one of Kojimas more controversial works, and its not just down to the length.''

Ground Zeroes is Kojima Being Kojima

Josh Hinke from Explosion writes: " I think its important to point out, before you read any further, I did not play Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Im not a big Kojima fan, Im not a big Metal Gear fan, I liked the first Metal Gear Solid, but I couldnt get through Sons of Liberty. While I dont think Hideo Kojima is a creative genius in fact, I dont think hes very creative I respect the droves of Metal Gear fans who have found much to enjoy in the franchise. Ill be the first to admit, not getting into Metal Gear is my loss as millions seem to really dig the adventures of Big Boss/Solid Snake."

The End Sniper Battle From Snake Eater Originally Took Weeks to Complete, Says Hideo Kojima

T1 - Remember the incredibly tough sniper battle against The End in Metal Gear Solid III: Snake Eater? Well, Metal Gear Solid series creator and director Hideo Kojima was actually going easy on you. Turns out he originally wanted the boss fight to take weeks to finish, but some wise souls told him that was probably a silly idea and it was ultimately toned down.

Is Game Length Becoming a Concern

Added: 24.03.2014 21:15 | 8 views | 0 comments

Hideo Kojima stated that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is so long (it is said to be 200 times bigger than Ground Zeroes), hes worried that it would be impossible to finish. Batman: Arkham Knight is reported to be five times larger than Arkham City. So truly the next-gen is reaching full capacity, not just in graphics, but the length of the game as well. Now, this brings the big question: is game length becoming a concern?

Review: Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (DarkZero)

Added: 23.03.2014 22:15 | 8 views | 0 comments

Dom from DarkZero writes - "Depending how successful the release of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is with the public will determine if Hideo Kojima is one smart individual or one crazy nutjob. Not many people in the industry could get away with charging between a R.R.P of £19.99 and £29.99 (price depending on which version of the game) for what is essentially a sneak peek at the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but him and Konami are doing just that. Its not like Kojima hasn't dabbled in demos before; Zone of the Enders for the PS2 came bundled with a demo of Metal Gear Solid 2, and while that was also a teaser for a new Metal Gear game, you also got a full game to go along with the asking price."
